Pemmican is a mixture of tallow, dried meat, and sometimes dried berries. A caloric rich food, it can be used as a key component in prepared meals or eaten raw. Historically, it was an important part of indigenous cuisine in certain parts of North America and it is still prepared today.

Worth every penny

Anyone writing a bad review based on price or shipping issues might want to take a step back and think about what the last three years has done to supply chains, wage increases, costs of just about everything having gone up and inflation. Grass fed, organic ingredients are not easy to come by and, by their nature, much more expensive than factory farmed, chemically laden foods. You get what you pay for. Cheep equals poison and fairly priced quality food is medicine for your body.

Can't justify price hike!

Is the $13.99 crossed out with the $26.50 as the new price correct or a glitch? If not a glitch, that's just ridiculous and completely unreasonable. I hope it is a glitch, and that you can correct it soon. I was just about to buy a bunch of this stuff, but not now. Not if the price per 2oz Blueberry Honey is now double!

Not bad :)

Arrived surprisingly fast, and the texture’s great! I was aware pemmican is an acquired taste, lol, but it didn’t take that long to get over it. After just a few bars, I’m already pretty neutral, and it shouldn’t take too many more bars to actually start ENJOYING pemmican 😄

A small treat

It’s a slightly sweetened and slightly bitter snack for on the go. I like it. I wouldn’t mind less carbs

Not for the faint of heart

Somewhat reminiscent of dried dog food, and most definitely inspired by a time when man rode open ranges devoid of calorie ready, saddle-worthy foods, pemmican is not for the faint of heart. I cannot in good conscience give this product 5 stars, but neither can I say you should not see if you size up.
