Frankie spent a little bit of time working as a waiter in NYC Steakhouses and noticed the crazy amount of salt and pepper that the Chef's were slathering the steaks with. Being open minded Frankie tried it himself and realized that the nostalgic flavor in most of these steakhouses was specifically due to the searing of the black pepper.
Apply a complete, but thin, layer of seasoning to the outside of the steak or burger. Ideally let rest for several minutes, up to 1 hour, but can be cooked immediately on high heat to caramelize the Steak Salt and develop a crust.
We use filtered sea salt and freshly ground black pepper so the flavor is more concentrated than your typical seasoning! Use sparingly!
